ADAM RAYMONDA: Hey Everybody! Adam here, checking in to say that post-production on season 2 is coming along incredibly smoothly. We have 10 brand new episodes of Forgive Me! Coming this September with a whole new cast of characters that we can’t wait to introduce you to in the next few weeks. This time around, we even let Father Ben step out of the confessional and into the town around him!
Putting out 10 new episodes for our second season seems like we’ve got enough on our plates, right? Wrong! Because before season two premieres we’ll be releasing a mini series of three additional confessions that just so happen to be a crossover with one of our other favorite comedy podcasts!
[MUSIC: The Amelia Project theme song begins to beep in before playing fully.]
The Amelia Project is a secret organization offering a very special service: Faking its clients' deaths! Its eccentric clientele includes cult leaders, criminals and politicians all desperate to disappear and start over... For how long can the secrecy last? With the help of his indispensable assistant Alvina, The Amelia Project's Interviewer needs only a 20 minute consultation to help any troubled client disappear into a new and exotic life. His solutions are delivered with a flourish of ingenuity, style, and a mug of delicious cocoa.
In our crossover mini series, entitled "Forgive Amelia - A triptych", The Amelia Project’s three main characters will each visit Father Ben to seek absolution for- well I’m not going to tell you that yet, you’ll have to tune in to find out! All I’ll say is that it may or may not involve one of our favorite Upstate New York delicacies... salt potatoes.
“Forgive Amelia - a triptych” begins on August 8th and will be available for everyone, but if you’re a patron of Rogue Dialogue you’ll also be able to watch us perform the first episode on video livestream this coming Friday, July 30th, and we’ll be doing advance video livestreams for the other two episodes as well.
You don’t need any advance knowledge of The Amelia Project to enjoy the crossover, but if you want to familiarize yourselves with it beforehand (and we absolutely recommend you do), you can search for The Amelia Project on your podcast app of choice and if you’re a fan of Forgive Me! we’re positive you’ll be a fan of this band of lovably terrifying misfits. We certainly did!
We’ll leave you with this little trailer, and we’ll be back on your feed in August, or if you’re a patron, hope to welcome you to our livestream on Friday.
[SFX: A phone rings before a voicemail plays.]
FR. BEN: Hi, you’ve reached Father Ben at St. Patrick’s Church. We aren’t here right now to take your call, but leave us your name, number, and a brief message after the beep, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. But, before we go to that beep, a note for some of our previous callers: while we truly appreciate your enthusiasm for the sacrament, it is both impossible and unethical for us to take your confession via voicemail, as I am not the only one with access to this mailbox. Please come in during the times stated on the Church bulletin, and I’ll be happy to—
[SFX: The beep comes before Ben can complete his entire thought. The tape turns over and we hear a car speeding in the background.]
THE INTERVIEWER: (Chipper) Hello! I know this is, uh, a bit unorthodox of me, but right now I’ve got a car full of sinners with a mighty burden to get off their shoulders. We’re in a bit of a pickle and need to be attended to immediately. I know it’s late, and don’t currently have access to your community bulletin, but I’m hoping you’ll be ready for us when we show up in… er...
[MUSIC: A beep and shakers begin to play in the background.]
[SFX: The car screeches to a halt.]
Well, now.
[MUSIC: A sweeping cover of The Amelia Project theme song plays, but this time in a brighter, happier key played by the instruments used in the Forgive Me! theme song: ukulele, glockenspiel, acoustic guitar, and toy piano among them.]
